Public Education
Ridgefield has six elementary schools: Barlow Mountain Elementary School, Branchville Elementary School, Farmingville Elementary School; Ridgebury Elementary School, Scotland Elementary School, and Veterans Park Elementary School; two middle schools: East Ridge Middle School and Scotts Ridge Middle School; and one high school: Ridgefield High School. US News and World Report ranked Ridgefield High School #4 in the state. SchoolDigger has ranked the district #3 in Connecticut.

Ridgefield Academy – preschool through eighth grade; Saint Mary Catholic School – preschool through eighth grade. Saint Padre Pio Catholic School K through 6.

Recreation
The Ridgefield Recreation Center complex offers a pool, gymnasium, fitness center with locker rooms featuring steam and sauna, multi-purpose rooms for programs, a child-care area, lounge, and food court. Also on the property are the Founders Hall Senior Citizen Center and the Sky’s the Limit fully accessible playground.

Local Parks
Ballard Park is located on Main Street and has a playground bandstand and many special events. Martin Park is the public beach/ swimming hole on the spring-fed Great Pond.
Ice Skating
Winter Garden Ice Arena – indoor public skating from September to late May. Winter pond skating is popular at Lake Mamanasco and Pierrepont State Park – at your own risk.

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is a leading venue for the world's best contemporary artists. Its exhibitions have attracted national attention and respect.
