Welcome to Scarsdale
The Village of Scarsdale, with a population of just under 18,000 residents, is conveniently located in southern Westchester County, just 21 miles north of New York City. Known for its excellent schools and picturesque setting, Scarsdale has a friendly Tudor-style Village center with shops, restaurants, and outdoor cafes. The 6.6-mile-wide Village is home to more than 20 parks and playgrounds. The Hutchinson River Parkway and Bronx River Parkway provide easy access by car to New York City, as well as Laguardia, Kennedy, and Westchester Airports.
Education
• The nationally acclaimed Scarsdale Union Free School District serves approximately 4850 students.
• The district is comprised of five neighborhood elementary schools (Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote & Quaker Ridge) for K-5.
• All students attend Scarsdale Middle School for grades 6-8. The middle school is divided into four houses (Butler, Cooper, Fountain, Popham), to help ensure a smooth transition to middle school.
• All students attend Scarsdale High School for grades 9-12. The High School has been renovated over the years and has a state-of-the-art media center, a new fitness center with a climbing wall, a lit track, and beautiful playing fields, including a turf field.
• Scarsdale High School takes pride in its challenging curriculum, talented faculty, and accomplished students and alumnae.
• Kids B.A.S.E. offers K-5 enrichment programs for Scarsdale residents, before and after school, as well as during school vacations and most holidays/days off, and during the summer as a before and after camp program.
• The Little School is a Scarsdale-based preschool program for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds; they also offer a half-day 2s class.
Recreation
• The Scarsdale Pool – an outstanding four-pool (Olympic, diving, intermediate, and kiddie) complex with locker rooms, concession stand, playground, sand volleyball, and basketball courts.
The Scarsdale Recreation Department also sponsors youth athletic programs, a variety of summer camps programs, and organizes other community events including the much-loved Halloween Window Painting Contest and Halloween Parade, the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular, and Free Band Concerts in Chase Park.

• Tennis Courts – 26: 15 all-weather and 11 har-tru courts, plus 6 paddle tennis courts.
• Playgrounds – with Aspen Park, Colonial Acres Park, Corell Park, Crossway Field, Davis Park, Greenacres Playground, Hyatt Field, and Scout Field/Willow Playground, there is always a playground nearby.
• Other Parks and Fields – include Harwood Park & Library Pond, and Chase Park in the heart of Scarsdale Village.

Transportation
• Only 21 miles north of New York City, and a 32-minute express train ride to Grand Central Station via Metro North.
• A variety of commuter parking options are available near Scarsdale Train station.
